About Better Birthing

Better Birthing is a place for parents, especially soon-to-be, new, and new-again parents. It is a place for learning about your choices in pregnancy, birth, and early parenting. It is a place to discover ways to be the best parent you can be for your baby!

I am passionate about embracing the beauty of pregnancy, encouraging natural birth, and supporting parents to begin their journey with love, peace, and confidence. The adventure of raising children begins for many at conception, or even before, and it can be full of enjoyment as well as challenges. Better Birthing is a place to discover how best to navigate this very special stage of life for you and your family.

I am also passionate about hypnotic childbirth. I created Better Birthing based on my experiences teaching Hypnobabies, as a way to offer a childbirth hypnosis course that was more personalized, flexible, and simplified. That idea grew into a program that aims for maximum customization, allowing all students to learn detailed information about pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond, with options for hypnosis and Christian spirituality.

About Me

My name is Heather. I am a mother to one baby in Heaven, one wonderful son, and two precious daughters. I wear many hats as a stay at home mom, homeschooler, birth educator, writer and blogger.

My passion for hypnotic birth began when I was first considering becoming a mother, but the fear of childbirth was holding me back. Through my search for a solution, I discovered the world of midwives, natural birth, and childbirth hypnosis. I was finally able to feel excited and hopeful about the birth process. When I became pregnant, I knew from the beginning I would use Hypnobabies. I did just that, and had a wonderful first birth experience. Even though my planned natural home birth didn’t go according to my plans, I still had a successful Hypnobabies birth. During my birthing time at home, and later in the hospital, I used the tools I learned in the program to completely enjoy the experience of bringing my child into the world.

For my second birth, I used Hypnobabies once again and had a completely natural home birth. It was the most empowering and wonderful experience of my life! For my third birth, I used my own Better Birthing hypnosis program and had another beautiful home birth. Each birth experience has been unique and amazing in its own way, and I’ve learned so much from each one.
